Terms of Use
In short: Suga is free to use for your own enjoyment. It shows flashing, color-changing light, so please take care if you're sensitive to it. The app is provided as-is.
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Suga (“the app”), on any device or in a browser, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Flashing light
Suga fills the screen with light that changes color and brightness in time with sound, including full-screen flashes. If you, or anyone who can see the screen, has photosensitive epilepsy or is sensitive to flashing or flickering light, don't use Suga without first talking to a doctor. Stop using it straight away if anyone feels dizzy, has blurred vision, eye or muscle twitches, or feels unwell.
Suga keeps full-screen flashes below three per second, the limit accessibility guidelines set for flashing content, and tones the beat pulse down when your device's reduced-motion setting is on. These steps lower the risk; they can't remove it for everyone.
3. Using the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own use. Please don't copy, resell or redistribute the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law or the rules of the store you got it from.
4. The microphone
Suga listens through your device's microphone only to measure sound, and never records it. Keep the volume of whatever you're playing at a level that's comfortable and safe for the people around you.
5. Price and support
The app is currently free. Optional tips through third-party services such as Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary, don't unlock features, and are handled under that service's own terms. If paid features are ever offered, their price and terms will be shown clearly before you buy, and purchases will be processed by the app store under its terms.
6. Changes to the app
We may update, change or stop offering the app or any feature at any time. We'll try to give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can.
7. No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation, to the extent the law allows. How well Suga follows the music depends on your device's microphone and surroundings.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date above. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new terms.
